Simon Koper (!Gomxab, ?-1913), captain of the Fransmans (!Khara-khoen). In the early 20th century Koper sided with Hendrik Witbooi in the Nama war against the German colonial forces in Namibia. At one stage Koper was taken captive and held prisoner on the infamous Shark Island in Lüderitz, but he escaped and rejoined the struggle. After the war he settled in Botswana.
