Influences

The rich mixtures of the cultures and the vibrant energy of AFRICA. Myths. The roots of words, poetry of Breyten Breytenbach and others, observations in nature, personal experiences and the natural meanderings of the imagination.

Viewpoint

I see the imagination as a playful and also an astonishingly powerfully creative force that exists in everyone. It gives birth to creations as varied as the Sphinx, the masks of Africa, the Minotaur, Ideologies, the names of star constellations, architecture, “Hamlet”, the micro chip technology, symphonies, bubblegum and poetry.

In my work I seek to create echoes of ancient times and the future, to remind man that our dreams create our world and even though we might forget it, we are all in touch with infinity.
